Vice-Chairman Lessard called the meeting to order at 7:10pm
Member Kent Vincent taking minutes
Agenda:
1. Minutes for April were approved. Kent to send copies to members and the Town Office for posting via eMail.
2. Discussion Defining the relationship of the TRC, BOS, and GRC .
a. Per the BOS, the TRC will speak for the BOS in communicating directives to the GRC, and will speak for the GRC when making reports and requests to the BOS.
b. Frank is free to speak to and question the BOS at any time. He remains an employee of the town and the TRC has no formal or official position with regard to his employment.
c. It is intended that this arrangement will facilitate better communications between the GRC and the BOS, resulting in improved performance.
3. Discussion on picking up trash and Recyclables at Town buildings.
a. The committee unanimously supports all town departments recycling as much as possible.
b. The committee recommends the BOS direct all departments to divide different types of recyclables (paper, cardboard, type 1 plastic, type 2 plastic, aluminum cans, and tin cans into separate bags for pickup once per week.
c. All bags must be placed outside in a designated area at a specific time (to be set).
d. Frank has offered to pick up such separated bags and trash bags (except from the Meeting House) and transport them to the GRC weekly.
e. Regarding the Meeting House, the committee unanimously agrees that a carry-in, carry-out policy be adopted by the BOS for all users of the facility. The committee further recommends the BOS strongly encourage all users to recycle by separating recyclables into individual bags as is recommended for all Town Departments. The BOS should further recommend all users dispose of all liquid matter down the drains in the Meeting House and NOT place liquids in the trash containers. However, it will be up to the users to properly dispose of their recyclables and trash themselves. In the past, trash from the Meeting House has often contained liquid matter in the trash,
which has leaked.
The meeting ended at 8:30pm
